 毛 笔 máo bǐ= Writing brush

  Xiě shū fǎ xū yào yònɡ máo bǐ   

1. 写  书 法 需  要  用   毛 笔 。

You need a brush to write calligraphy.

  Wǒ jiā lǐ yǒu liǎnɡ zhī dà máo bǐ   

2. 我  家 里  有   两   支 大  毛 笔 。

There are two big brushes in my house.

墨  水  mò shuǐ = ink

  Yào yònɡ máo bǐ xiě zì   xū yào mò shuǐ   

1. 要  用   毛 笔  写 字 ，需  要 墨  水  。

To write with a brush, ink is needed.

  Zhè zhǒnɡ mò shuǐ yī pínɡ duō shǎo qián   

2. 这   种  墨  水  一  瓶   多  少   钱  ？

How much is a bottle of this ink?

 瓶  pínɡ = bottle

  Wǒ xiǎnɡ yào hē yī pínɡ qì shuǐ   

1.我   想   要 喝 一  瓶  汽  水 。

I want to drink a bottle of soda.

  Wǒ men jiā de rén dōu xǐ huan hē kā fēi   

2.我  们  家 的  人  都 喜  欢  喝 咖  啡 。

Everyone in our family likes to drink coffee.

 尺 子 chǐ zi = ruler

  Dì di měi ɡè yuè dū huì huàn chǐ zi   

1.弟 弟  每 个  月 都  会  换   尺 子 。

My younger brother will change the ruler every month.

  Cónɡ xiǎo xué dào xiàn zài   wǒ yì zhí huì yònɡ dào chǐ zi   

2. 从   小   学  到  现   在 ，我 一  直  会  用   到  尺 子 。

From elementary school to now, I have been using a ruler.

  橡  皮 xiànɡ pí = eraser

  Mèi mei yǒu hěn duō qiān bǐ hé xiànɡ pí   

1. 妹  妹  有  很  多  铅  笔 和   橡  皮 。

My sister has a lot of pencils and erasers.

  Zhè kuài xiànɡ pí duō shǎo qián ne  

2. 这  块    橡  皮  多  少   钱  呢 ?

How much is this rubber?

计  算 jì suàn = calculate 

bǎ zhè xiē jì suàn zài nèi   

1. 把  这  些 计  算   在  内 。

Take these into account.

zuò rèn hé shì qinɡ yào zuò hǎo jì suàn   

 2. 做  任 何  事  情   要  做  好 计  算  。

Do everything you need to calculate well.

计  算  机 jì suàn jī = calculator

wǒ mǎi le yí ɡè hěn hǎo kàn de jì suàn jī   

1. 我  买 了 一 个  很  好  看 的 计  算  机。

I bought a nice computer.

zhè ɡè jì suàn jī de ɡōnɡ nénɡ bǐ nà ɡè hǎo duō   

 2. 这 个 计  算  机 的  功   能  比 那 个  好  多 。

The function of this computer is much better than that of that.

 别 bié = do not

qǐnɡ nǐ bié ɡū fù wǒ de hǎo yì   

 请  你  别 辜 负 我 的  好 意 。

Please don't disappoint my kindness.

bié bǎ xiǎo shì qinɡ fànɡ zài xīn li   

 2. 别 把  小   事  情   放   在  心 里 。

Don't take the little things to heart.

区  别 qū bié = the difference

zhè kuài xiànɡ pí hé nà kuài yǒu shén me qū bié  

 1. 这  块    橡  皮 和 那  块   有  什  么 区  别 ?

What is the difference between this eraser and that one?

wǒ jué de zhè liǎnɡ zhǒnɡ chǎn pǐn méi shén me qū bié  

2. 我  觉 得  这   两    种   产   品  没  什  么 区  别 ?

I think there is no difference between these two products?

 质   量 zhì liànɡ = quality

zhè ɡè zhì liànɡ bǐ jiào hǎo   suǒ yǐ jià ɡé yí dìnɡ hěn ɡuì   

 1. 这 个  质   量  比  较   好 ， 所 以  价 格 一  定   很  贵 。

The quality is better, so the price must be very expensive.

yǒu xiē rén mǎi dōnɡ xi méi kàn zhì liànɡ   zhǐ kàn jià ɡé   

 2. 有  些  人  买  东  西  没  看  质   量  ， 只  看  价 格 。

Some people do not look at the quality but only the price when they buy things.

 功  能  ɡōnɡ nénɡ  = function; feature

ɡuì de qì chē de ɡōnɡ nénɡ dānɡ rán bǐ jiào duō   

 贵 的 汽  车 的  功   能   当   然 比  较   多 。

Of course, expensive cars have more functions.

wǒ bù zhī dào zhè ɡè dōnɡ xi de ɡōnɡ nénɡ shì shén me   

我 不  知  道  这 个  东  西 的  功   能   是  什  么 。

I don't know what the function of this thing is.

还  是 hái shì = still is ; or

nǐ yào hē kā fēi hái shì hē niú nǎi  

你  要 喝 咖  啡  还  是 喝  牛  奶 ?

Would you like coffee or milk?

nǐ shì xiǎo mínɡ hái shì xiǎo qiánɡ  

你  是  小   明   还  是  小    强  ?

Are you Xiao Ming or Xiao Qiang?

 钱  qián = money

rú ɡuǒ yǒu shènɡ xià hěn duō qián   jiù fēn ɡěi pín qiónɡ de rén   

如  果  有   剩   下  很  多  钱  ， 就  分  给  贫   穷  的  人 。

If there is a lot of money left, it is distributed to the poor.

qián duō qián shǎo méi ɡuān xì   kuài lè jiù hǎo   

 钱   多  钱   少   没  关  系 ， 快  乐  就  好 。

It doesn't matter if you have more money or less, just be happy.

 给 ɡěi  = give

wǒ bǎ zhè kuài dàn ɡāo ɡěi tā chī   

我 把  这  块   蛋  糕  给 他  吃 。

I will give him this piece of cake.

mínɡ tiān zǎo shànɡ wǒ xiǎnɡ ɡěi tā dǎ diàn huà   

 明   天   早   上  我   想   给 他 打  电   话 。

I want to call him tomorrow morning.

 找  zhǎo  = find

wǒ zhǎo dào le yí ɡè hǎo lǚ ɡuǎn   

我  找   到 了 一 个  好 旅  馆  。

I found a good hotel.

wǒ zhǎo le bàn tiān   hái zhǎo bù dào pénɡ you de jiā   

我  找  了  半  天  ， 还  找  不  到  朋   友 的  家 。

I searched for a long time, but couldn't find my friend's house.

 欢 迎  huān yínɡ = welcome

huān yínɡ nǐ men lai wǒ jiā wán   

 欢   迎  你  们  来 我  家  玩 。

Welcome you to come to my house to play.

huān yínɡ dà jiā lai cān ɡuān wàn li chánɡ chénɡ   

 欢   迎  大  家  来  参  观   万 里   长    城  。
