端  午  节 duān wǔ jié = The Dragon Boat Festival

Měi nián duān wǔ jié zài shén me shí hou ne   

1.  每  年   端  午  节  在  什  么  时  候 呢 ？

When is the Dragon Boat Festival every year?

    Jīn nián de duān wǔ jié   wǒ men dōu chī le hěn duō zònɡ zǐ   

2.  今  年  的  端  午  节 ，我  们  都  吃 了  很  多  粽  子 。

During the Dragon Boat Festival this year, we all ate a lot of zongzi.

           

 龙   舟 lónɡ zhōu = Dragon Boat

  Duān wǔ jié shí   kě yǐ kàn dào lónɡ zhōu bǐ sài   

1. 端  午  节  时 ，可 以  看  到  龙   舟  比  赛 。

During the Dragon Boat Festival, you can see a dragon boat race.

           

 粽  子 zònɡ zǐ = Bakcang

  Yǒu xiē rén xǐ huan chī zònɡ zǐ   yǒu xiē rén bù xǐ huān   

1. 有  些  人 喜  欢   吃  粽  子 ， 有  些  人 不 喜  欢  。

Some people like to eat rice dumplings, some people don't.

 烤 鸭 kǎo yā   = roast duck

  Bei jīnɡ kǎo yā shì shì jiè shànɡ zuì yǒu mínɡ de kǎo yā   

1. 北  京   烤 鸭  是  世  界   上   最  有  名  的  烤 鸭 。

Peking duck is the most famous roast duck in the world.

         

 红   烧   肉 hónɡ shāo ròu  = pork stewed in soy sauce

  Wǒ de jiào tú bù kě yǐ chī hónɡ shāo ròu   

1.我 的  教  徒 不 可 以  吃  红   烧   肉 。

My followers are not allowed to eat braised pork.

  

 豆 腐dòu fǔ = bean curd

  Nǎi nai cónɡ xiǎo jiù mài dòu fǔ le   

1. 奶  奶  从   小   就  卖  豆 腐 了 。

Grandma has been selling tofu since she was a child.

  Wǒ men jiā tiān tiān dōu chī dòu fǔ   

2.我  们  家  天   天   都  吃  豆 腐 。

Our family eats tofu every day.

    

 点  diǎn    = order

  Wǒ bù tài dǒnɡ zhè zhānɡ cài dān xiě shén me   nǐ bānɡ wǒ diǎn ba  

1.我 不  太  懂   这   张   菜  单  写  什  么 ，你  帮  我  点  吧 ?

I don't quite understand what is written in this menu, can you help me order it?

              

 果  盘 ɡuǒ pán  = fruit plate

ɡuǒ pán shànɡ mian yǒu hěn duō ɡè zhǒnɡ ɡè yànɡ de ɡuǒ zǐ   

 果  盘   上   面   有  很  多 各   种  各  样  的  果 子 。

There are many kinds of fruits on the fruit plate.

            

 饮  料 yǐn liào  = drink ; beverage

Nǐ yào hē shén me yǐn liào   jìn liànɡ diǎn   

1.你  要 喝  什  么  饮  料  ， 尽   量   点  。

What kind of drink you want to drink, try to order.

  Yǒu xiē yǐn liào bù hé qí kǒu fú   bǐ rú qì shuǐ   

2. 有  些  饮  料  不 合 其  口 服 ，比 如 汽  水  。

Some beverages are not suitable for oral administration, such as soft drinks.

啤  酒 pí jiǔ = beer

  Pí jiǔ hē duō le jiù huì shānɡ hài shēn tǐ   

1.啤  酒 喝  多 了  就  会   伤   害  身  体 。

Drinking too much beer will hurt the body.

   

 菜  单 cài dān   = menu

  Cài dān de tú huà   ɡēn zhēn shí cài yǒu yì diǎn bù yī yànɡ   

1. 菜  单 的 图  画 ， 跟  真   实  菜  有 一  点  不 一  样  。

The picture of the menu is a bit different from the real dishes.

         

 买  单 mǎi dān = pay the bill

  Wǒ men chī wán le   wǒ men qù mǎi dān ba  

1.我  们  吃  完 了 ，我  们 去  买  单 吧 !

We're done eating, let's go pay the bill!

 先  生 xiān shenɡ    = Mr.

  Mài kè xiān shenɡ shì cónɡ yīnɡ ɡuó lai de 

1. 麦 克  先    生   是  从   英   国  来的 。

Mr. Mike is come from England.

 太  太 tài tài    = Mrs.

  Lín tài tài měi tiān zǎo shànɡ dōu zài chāo shì mài cài   

1. 林  太  太  每  天   早   上   都  在  超   市  卖  菜 。

Mrs. Lin sells vegetables in the supermarket every morning.

       

 要  是 。。 就 。。yào shì     Jiù  = if....

  Yào shì yǒu shén me shì qínɡ   nǐ jiù jìn liànɡ ɡào su wǒ   

1. 要  是  有  什  么  事  情  ，你  就  尽   量   告 诉 我。

If there is anything, you try to tell me.

      

渴 kě  = thirsty

  Wǒ hěn kǒu kě   bānɡ wǒ ná yī bēi shuǐ   

1.我  很  口 渴 ， 帮  我 拿 一  杯  水  。

I'm very thirsty, get me a glass of water.

  Pǎo le yī quān jué de kě le   zuò xià lai hē yī bēi shuǐ ba   

2. 跑 了 一  圈   觉 得 渴 了 ， 坐  下  来 喝 一  杯  水  吧 ！

After running around and feeling thirsty, sit down and drink a glass of water!
