亲 戚 qīn qi = relative

   Zài yǎ jiā dá   wǒ zhǐ yǒu jǐ ɡè qīn qi ér yǐ   

1. 在 雅  加 达 ，我  只  有 几 个  亲 戚 而 已 。

 In Jakarta, I only have a few relatives.

  Nǐ nǎ ɡe qīn qi bān dào nǎ lǐ qù le  

2.你 哪 个  亲 戚  搬  到 哪 里 去 了 ?

 Which of your relatives moved to where?

                 

 内 地  nèi dì  = mainland china

  Wǒ bǐ jiào xǐ huan zhù zài nèi dì   

1.我 比  较  喜  欢   住  在  内 地 。

I prefer to live in the mainland.

  Nèi dì de shí wù bǐ wài dì hǎo chī duō le   

2. 内 地 的  食 物 比  外 地  好  吃  多 了 。

The food in the mainland is much better than that in the outside world.

       

 见   面 jiàn miàn = meet; see

  Wǒ hěn shǎo ɡēn wǒ de qīn qi jiàn miàn le   

1.我  很  少   跟 我 的  亲 戚  见   面  了 。

I rarely meet with my relatives.

  Xià ɡè xīnɡ qī liù   nǐ yào bù yào ɡēn wǒ jiàn miàn  

2. 下 个  星  期  六 ，你  要 不  要  跟 我  见   面  ?

 Next Saturday, would you like to meet me?

                    

大 伯 dà bó = father's eldest brother                          

伯 母  bó mǔ  = wife of father’s elder brother

  Dà bó hé bó mǔ shì wǒ zuì qīn de qīn qi   

1.大 伯 和 伯 母  是 我  最  亲 的  亲 戚 。

Uncle and aunt are my closest relatives.

           

姑 姑 ɡū ɡū  = Father's sister                         

姑   丈  ɡū zhànɡ  = husband of father’s sister

  Gū ɡū hé ɡū zhànɡ de jiā lí wǒ jiā bù yuǎn   

1.姑 姑 和 姑   丈  的  家 离 我  家 不  远  。

Aunt and uncle's home is not far from our home.

 舅  舅 jiù jiù  = mother’s brother                       

 舅 妈 jiù mā  = wife of mother’s brother

  Wǒ yǒu wǔ ɡè jiù jiù hé wǔ ɡè jiù mā   

1.我  有 五 个  舅  舅 和 五 个  舅 妈 。

I have five uncles and five aunt.

                      

姨 妈 yí mā  = mother’s sister (married)                

姨 丈  yí zhànɡ  = husband of mother’s sister

  Wǒ yǒu liǎnɡ ɡè yí mā hé liǎnɡ ɡè yí zhànɡ   

1.我  有   两  个 姨 妈 和   两  个 姨   丈  。

I have two aunts and two uncles.

      

  丈  夫  zhànɡ fu  = husband

  Wǒ de zhànɡ fu shì shì jiè shànɡ zuì hǎo de nán rén   

1.我 的   丈  夫  是  世  界   上   最  好 的  男  人 。

My husband is the best man in the world.

  Tā yǐ jīnɡ yǒu le liǎnɡ ɡè zhànɡ fu   hái xiǎnɡ yào jià dì sān cì   

2.他 已  经   有 了   两  个   丈  夫 ， 还   想   要  嫁 第  三 次 。

He already has two husbands and wants to marry a third time.

       

妻 子 qī zi  = wife

  Tā ɡēn tā de qī zi lí hūn le   

1.他  跟 他 的 妻 子 离  婚 了 。

He divorced his wife.

  Wǒ de qī zi hé tā de qī zi de mínɡ zi yí yànɡ   

2.我 的 妻 子 和 他 的 妻 子 的  名  字 一  样  。

My wife has the same name as his wife.

                                    

 婶 婶  shěn shěn  = wife of father’s younger brother

  Wǒ de shū shu de qī zi，   wǒ yào jiào shěn shěn   

1.我 的  叔  叔 的 妻 子 ，我  要  叫   婶   婶  。

My uncle's wife, I want to call my aunt.

        

 孩 子 hái zi  = child

  Xiàn dài hái zi hěn hǎo mìnɡ   hěn xiǎo jiù yǒu shǒu jī kě yǐ wán   

1. 现   代  孩 子  很  好  命  ， 很  小   就  有  手  机 可 以  玩 。

Modern children are very life-saving, and they have mobile phones to play at a very young age.

  Xiānɡ xià hái zi yǒu xiē bǐ dà shǒu dū hái zi cōnɡ minɡ ne   

2.  乡   下  孩 子  有  些 比 大  首  都  孩 子  聪   明  呢 。

Some children from the country are smarter than those from the big capital.

                             

 堂  哥 、堂  弟 tánɡ ɡē，tánɡ dì = sons of father’s brothers

 表  姐 、表  妹  biǎo jiě，biǎo mèi  = daughters of mother’s siblings and father’s sisters

  

  Wǒ yǒu hěn duō tánɡ ɡē   tánɡ dì   biǎo jiě   biǎo mèi   

1.我  有  很  多  堂  哥 ， 堂  弟 ， 表   姐 ， 表   妹 。

I have many cousins, cousins, cousins, and cousins.

去  世 qù shì  = pass away

  Tā mén de mā ma zài tā mén bā suì jiù qù shì le   

1.她  们 的 妈 妈  在 她  们 八  岁  就 去  世 了 。

Their mother died when they were eight years old.

  Tā wèi shén me huì qù shì ne   

2.他  为  什  么  会 去  世 呢 ？

Why did he die?

 

 婚 礼 hūn lǐ   = wedding

  Suī rán tā shì wǒ de pénɡ you   dàn shì wǒ bù xiǎnɡ cān jiā tā de hūn lǐ   

1. 虽  然 他  是 我 的  朋   友 ， 但  是 我 不   想   参  加 他 的  婚 礼 。

 Although he is my friend, I don't want to attend his wedding.

  Tā men dí hūn lǐ shì jīn nián wǒ men dí chénɡ shì zuì dà de hūn lǐ   

2.他  们 的  婚 礼  是  今  年  我  们 的   城   市  最 大 的  婚 礼 。

 Their wedding is the biggest wedding in our city this year.

                     

 结  婚 jié hūn  = marry; get married

  Nǐ yǐ jīnɡ jǐ suì le hái bú yào jié hūn   

1.你 已  经  几  岁 了  还 不  要  结  婚 ？

 How old are you not to get married?

  Rén men chánɡ dà hòu yí dìnɡ yào jié hūn ma  

2. 人  们   长  大  后 一  定   要  结  婚 吗 ?

Do people have to get married when they grow up?

 未  来  wèi lái  = future

  Nǐ duì nǐ zì jǐ de wèi lái yǒu shén me kàn fǎ  

1.你  对 你 自 己 的  未  来  有  什  么  看 法 ?

 What do you think of your own future?

  Nǐ cái èr sān suì， nǐ de wèi lái hái yǒu hěn dà dí xī wànɡ   

2.你  才 二  三  岁 ，你 的  未  来  还  有  很 大 的 希  望  。

You are only two or three years old, and there is still great hope for you.

            

 演  员  yǎn yuán  = actor; actress

  Wǒ de biǎo jiě hé biǎo ɡē shì zhù mínɡ de yǎn yuán   

1.我 的  表   姐 和  表  哥  是  著  名  的  演  员  。

My cousin and cousin are famous actors.

  Yǐ qián wǒ xiǎnɡ dānɡ yǎn yuán   xiàn zài wǒ xiǎnɡ dānɡ lǜ shī   

2.以  前  我   想   当   演  员  ， 现   在 我   想   当  律  师 。

Before I wanted to be an actor, now I want to be a lawyer.
